  • BTEC Qualifications : DDM - This course requires a minimum of Distinction, Distinction, Merit from the 18 unit Extended Diploma.
  • IELTS : 6 - IELTS (Academic) 6.0 with minimum 5.5 in each component or equivalent.
  • International Baccalaureate : 32 - This course requires 32 points from the IB including 5 points from each of the 3 Higher Level subjects.
  • UCAS Tariff : 320 - The entry requirements for this course are 320 tariff points, with 200 from two A-levels (e.g. B,B) or equivalent, with remaining 120 points from other A/AS levels, equivalent qualifications or Key Skills.

    We look at individual applications and make a tailored offer based on your potential to succeed on the course
    In determining your potential, we look at a range of factors including your academic achievements, work and other experience, predicted grades, reference and personal statement, and in some cases, your performance at an interview/selection test
    If you meet one or more of our contextual data indicators for educational disadvantage (such as being in care, living in a low participation neighborhood or in an area with less advantaged socio-economic characteristics), your offer could be between 20-60 points below the published tariff.
    Tariff points
    The entry requirements for this course are 320 tariff points, with 200 from two A-levels (e.g. B,B) or equivalent, with remaining 120 points from other A/AS levels, equivalent qualifications or Key Skills. BTEC Extended Diploma: DDM.

    Numeracy and literacy
    We need to be sure that you can express yourself in written English and have basic numeracy skills. We look at Level 2 of the National Qualifications Framework which includes GCSEs and Key Skills Level 2.     Other qualifications
    We have outlined below other qualifications that we consider for this course. If you are studying a qualification that is not listed, please contact the askBU Enquiry Service – it may be that we can still consider it.

    The Certificate in Financial Studies (CeFS) and Diploma in Financial Studies (DipFS) carry UCAS points and are recongised by BU. Please refer to the UCAS tariff tables for further details about the UCAS tariff points allocated to these qualifications. Please note applicants with the ifs Diploma cannot also count points allocated to the ifs Certificate, completion of both qualifications will result in a maximum of 120 UCAS Tariff points.

    Access Courses
    BU welcomes Access to HE Diploma applicants. This course requires 24 Level 3 credits with Merit or above.

    Advanced/Progression Diplomas
    We welcome applicants studying the Advanced or Progression Diploma – additional qualifications will be required to meet the tariff points for the Progression diploma.

    BTEC Qualifications
    Extended Diploma

    This course requires a minimum of Distinction, Distinction, Merit from the 18 unit Extended Diploma.

    Diploma

    This course requires Distinction, Distinction from the 12 unit Diploma in addition to an A-level Grade C to achieve the overall tariff points.

    90-credit Diploma

    The 90-credit Diploma will be accepted as part of your overall tariff but it must be accompanied by A-levels or equivalent qualifications.

    Subsidiary Diploma

    This course requires a Distinction from the 6 unit Subsidiary Diploma in addition to two Bs from 2 A-levels to achieve the overall tariff points.

    Cambridge Pre-U Diploma
    We welcome applicants studying the Cambridge Pre-U Diploma or a combination of Pre-U subjects and A-levels.

    European Baccalaureate
    Applicants are required to achieve a minimum of 80% overall.

    International Baccalaureate Diploma
    The International Diploma is welcomed as part of the International Baccalaureate. This course requires 32 points from the IB including 5 points from each of the 3 Higher Level subjects. Please note we do not accept the equivalent UCAS tariff points for the IB.

    Scottish Qualifications
    Scottish Advanced Highers, Scottish Highers and other Scottish qualifications are all welcomed providing that your results meet the overall course tariff.

    Welsh Baccalaureate
    The Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced Diploma is welcomed alongside A-levels or equivalent, to meet the overall course tariff.

    Successful completion of the Pre-sessional English for University Study Programme

    We accept a range of recognised English Language qualifications for entry. These tests are amongst the Secure English Language Tests (SELT) published by UK Border Agency for Tier 4 Student Visa purpose.
